An exciting month for our hall improvement project

Trent Memorial Hall Uncategorized

December turned out to be an incredibly exciting month for our Hall Improvement project.  First, we were awarded £20,500 from a new Village Halls Improvement Grant Fund, sponsored by Defra and administered by Action with Communities in Rural England. Our application had strong support from Dorset Community Action, for which we are very grateful. Then, secondly, ACRE worked with us and the BBC to feature Trent Memorial Hall as part of a segment on village halls for the Countryfile Christmas Special, shown on 22 December. David Walden and Nicola Harris were interviewed and Nick Parsons, Paul Dart and Simon Crozier were filmed working on the new extension. You can watch the piece on BBC iPlayer – it starts about 14 minutes into the programme. And if you are sharp, you can also spot Judy Chellew and Pamela Blelloch from Nether Compton! This latest grant success means we are now cracking on to complete the works – watch this space for further updates.
