Trent Memorial Hall near Sherborne Dorset

Trent Memorial Hall

A well-located venue for your family celebration or event

Trent Memorial Hall is situated in the charming village of Trent, which lies close to Sherborne in Dorset and has become a hub of our small community.

With a large open hall, separate meeting/function room and adjoining a lovely and spacious village green with a fantastic new play area, this is an excellent venue for a wedding reception, party, dances, corporate events and both day and evening classes. Currently, there are many classes in the hall, including for those interested in yoga, dog training and quilting.

Weddings

The hall is a great venue for a wedding reception, providing excellent value for money. It has a large main hall, separate smaller room and a fully-equipped kitchen, including induction hob, dishwasher and plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware. Parking is available along with a lovely outside patio with tables and umbrellas and a fantastic children’s playground. In the drier months marquees can be erected on the village green, with the hall’s facilities close nearby. Please email bookings@trentmemorialhall.co.uk for more information.

The magnificent 14th century St Andrew’s Church is a short walk from the hall – enquiries about a church wedding should be sent to the Rector, David Bond, at trentrectory@gmail.com.

Catering can be done onsite or brought in, including an option to have your wedding breakfast provided by our village gastropub, The Rose and Crown. The pub can be contacted at hello@theroseandcrowntrent.co.uk

The photos show how the hall was “dressed” for a recent wedding.

Hall Facilities

As this website shows, the hall has some great facilities, including plenty of parking, a modernised kitchen and toilets and excellent heating and lighting. In recent months we have invested further in some additional facilities and services for the hall, making it an even better place to hire for weddings, parties and a range of classes and functions. As well as our new booking system (see across), we can now also offer:

  • high quality audio-visual equipment with a large screen for viewing films, etc.
  • a commercial dishwasher with a wash cycles of 2 and 3 minutes only.
  • fast broadband and wi-fi access
  • a large outside patio screened by a hedge. In due course we plan to install an awning or canopy to provide shade on the patio in the summer.
  • a fantastic playground including an outdoor table tennis table.

All of this adds up to a terrific community facility which should serve us well in the coming years.
